ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY IN CONNECTICUT
As the premier provider of bone and joint care in Southern Connecticut, we utilize the latest in minimally invasive surgical techniques such as arthroscopy for conditions affecting bone joints of the shoulder, hip, knee, wrist, elbow and ankle. Minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery is a procedure done through small incisions with special instrumentation. A tiny camera is used to project detailed images onto a monitor that allows our orthopaedic specialists to perform delicate work without the need for larger incisions. With arthroscopic surgery, most patients can return to work and regular activities sooner than with other traditional surgical techniques.
Both Diagnosis and Treatment in One Procedure
This single procedure can provide both diagnosis and treatment at the same time with many benefits over traditional surgery including minimizing the impact to surrounding tissue.
Additional benefits include:
- Less pain during recovery
- Reduced blood loss
- Shorter hospital stays
- Less scarring
- Reduced risk of infection
Arthroscopic technology and procedures have undergone significant advances over the years and we have stayed at the forefront of those changes. Most arthroscopic procedures are performed on an outpatient basis at our ambulatory surgical center in Branford, CT. The vast majority of our Connecticut Orthopaedic surgeons have specialized training in arthroscopy.
