Concussion Prevention and Management
Concussions are a result from a bump, hit, or blow to the head or from violent shaking. They are most common in contact sports but can occur in everyday life. Concussion symptoms may appear mild, but can lead to significant, life-long impairment in an individual's ability to function physically, cognitively, and psychologically. An early diagnosis and proper prevention and management can significantly improve patient outcomes. Returning to play too early or suffering a second blow to the head while recovering from a concussion can be catastrophic.
