Stephanie Arlis-Mayor, MD, FAAFP is Board Certified in Family Practice and Primary Care Sports Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. As a specialist in Primary Care Sports Medicine, she focuses on the non surgical musculoskeletal and medical problems of athletes. Care is customized to provide comprehensive management of the athlete at all skill levels, from weekend warrior to the elite athlete. Along with management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, she also manages patients with osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, overuse injuries, return to play decisions after injury or illness, pre-participation sports examinations and care of athletes with acute or chronic medical illnesses that affect sports and fitness. She has a special interest and expertise in sports related concussion management including neuropsychological testing.

Dr Arlis-Mayor graduated from Yale College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson Medical College. She completed her residency in Family Practice at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University Medical School. She also served as Chief Resident in this program. She completed additional training in Primary Care Sports Medicine.

Dr Arlis-Mayor is a faculty member of the Internal Medicine Residency at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. She teaches resident physicians and medical students in primary care and sports medicine. She is also involved with the Connecticut State Medical Society committee on Medical Aspects of Sports Medicine.

Dr Arlis-Mayor is also active in her community. She coaches local youth soccer and serves as an advisor to youth sports programs. She serves on the board of Project Access New Haven. She continues to play soccer in an woman's adult recreational league.

She is married to Dr Rowland Mayor, a Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon with Center for Orthopedics. They live in Guilford with their 3 children.

John M. Aversa, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon by the National Board of Medical Examiners and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. His extensive knowledge and years of experience position Dr. Aversa as an expert in General Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports/Arthroscopic Surgery including Arthroscopic Synovectomy for LYME disease, Joint Replacement and Hand Surgery at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Aversa has collaborated with Dr. Allen Steere, Chief of Rheumatology at Mass General Hospital in Boston and renowned Lyme Disease expert in treating chronic synovitis for Lyme Disease with arthroscopic synovectomies. He has a large series of patients who have undergone theis procedure with excellent results.

Present hospital affilliations include: Currently Interim Chairman, Department of Orthopaedics, Hospital of St. Raphael, Attending, Yale New Haven, Attending; former Chief of Orthopaedics at the Hospital of St. Raphaels and former President of Staff at the Hospital of St. Raphaelis an Attending at. He has also served on many hospital and professional boards and committees.

Dr. Aversa earned his B.A. degree from New York University, Washington Square College and his M.D. degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed his general surgery internship and two years of his general surgery residency in New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center as well as a Fellowship in Surgery. He later completed his orthopaedic surgery residencies at Yale-New Haven Hospital and Newington Children's Hospital. A Lt. Commander in the United States Navy, Dr. Aversa served as a General Surgeon in Morocco.

Dr. Aversa's academic appointments include Yale School of Medicine as Assistant Clinical Professsor in the Dept. of Orthopaedics and he is a Faculty Member for the Physician Assistant Program at Quinnipiac University. He has provided orthopaedic in-services and Grand Rounds to staff members and students at area medical centers.

He also has been inducted into the Knights of Honor, Notre Dame High School, West Haven, CT because of his dedication and assistance to their Athletic Department.

Dr. Aversa also was inducted as a Knight of Malta and has traveled with their team of doctors to Haiti twice in 2010 to provide orthopaedic care.

In 2009 Dr. Aversa was named Physician of the Year by Business New Haven and Connecticut Magazine Best Doctor on multiple occasions. He also was awarded the best Ambulatory Medicine teaching award at the Hospital of St. Raphael.

A well-known lecturer, Dr. Aversa has presented at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting, CT Chapter of American Physical Therapy, Orthopaedic Research Society, American Association for Hand Surgery, Southern New England Hand Society and the American Hand Association.

He has published in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Orthopaedic, Arthritis & Rheumatism, Engineering in Medicine and Biology, Trans. Orthopaedic Research Society and the Annual New England Bioengineering Conference. Professional memberships include Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Society, Orthopaedic Research Society, Eastern Orthopaedic Association, American Association of Hand Surgery, Southern New England Hand Society, and American College of Sports Medicine, Connecticut State Medical Society, New Haven County Medical Association, and New Haven Medical Society.

Dr. Benjamin Barnes graduated from the University of Binghamton where he received his Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience. Thereafter he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Bridgeport. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of injuries to the spine as well as many athletic injuries. He is an A.R.T Certified provider and has extensive knowledge of biomechanics and sports specific exercises. His interests include the treatment and prevention of overuse injuries such as golfers/tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and shoulder impingements that compliment his treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. Dr. Barnes is also a Certified Strength and Condition Specialist with a background in sports specific performance and functional assessments. This has led to athletes performing better, and staying injury free.

John M. Beiner, MD, is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Spine Surgeon with a specialty in cervical spine, treating the range of adult and pediatric spinal disorders.

Born near Los Angeles, Dr. Beiner graduated cum laude from the University of California, San Diego. He moved to New Haven in 1992 for medical school at Yale University School of Medicine. Graduating in the top ten percent of his class, he was inducted into the honorary medical society Alpha Omega Alpha. He remained at Yale for his internship in General Surgery and residency in Orthopedic Surgery, and served as Chief Resident in 2001-2002. Awarded a fellowship at one of the top programs for Spine Surgery in the United States, he completed his training at Thomas Jefferson University and the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. There he learned traditional spinal surgery methods as well as studying the most modern, cutting-edge techniques of non-operative and minimally invasive surgical techniques. His training prepared him to deal with a wide range of degenerative and traumatic spinal disorders. Working with Connecticut Orthopedic Specialists since 2003, Dr. Beiner is a partner in a group of specialists dealing with the range of musculoskeletal disorders. He has a particular interest and expertise in problems related to the cervical spine.

Dr. Beiner is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. With attending privileges at Yale-New Haven Hospital, The Hospital of St. Raphael's and Midstate Hospital, he remains involved with resident education, orthopaedics and neurosurgery, in the surgical setting. He has presented at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and has given numerous Grand Rounds at Yale and Thomas Jefferson University. He has published widely in the Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery literature. He regularly attends national meetings and courses to maintain his skills.

Dr. Beiner lives in Madison with his two children. He is active in crossfit in Madison. His is also an avid outdoor sports enthusiast. Dr. Beiner stays as active as he wants his patients to be; he enjoys water- and snow-skiing, wakeboarding and snowboarding, kiteboarding, scuba diving, mountain biking, open water swimming, triathlons, and sailing. His at-home hobbies also include woodworking, woodturning, and furniture-making.

Dr. Bernstein grew up locally in Orange and spent time volunteering at Yale New Haven Hospital during the summers. After graduating from Hopkins Grammar school, he continued college and medical school in Connecticut. Since returning from his fellowship at Harvard, he has developed a specialty Orthopaedic practice in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery.

Dr. Bernstein is actively involved with the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and has been asked by its presidents to serve on multiple task forces, the Residents and Fellows conference and Scientific Exhibits Committees. Besides his active clinical practice, he teaches at the Yale Medical School for Medical and Physician Associate Students as well as the Resident Doctors training in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Boone has been in practice with OSM since it was founded in 1994. A graduate of Dartmouth College and The University of Pennsylvania Medical School, he is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with Fellowship training in Total Joint Reconstruction. He leads local efforts at Outpatient Total Joint, Direct Anterior Approach Hip and Total Joint Co-management. Dr. Boone received the 2004 St. Vincent de Paul Award for outstanding physician at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, where he serves as Assistant Director of Orthopaedics. He is a Fellow of AAOS and AAHKS.

Hubert Benjamin Bradburn, M.D. brings many years of orthopaedic training, knowledge and experience to the medical team at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., of which he is a founder. His areas of expertise are Upper Extremity Orthopaedics and Hand/ Wrist Surgery.

Dr. Bradburn is an attending surgeon at the following health care centers: Yale-New Haven Hospital, Hospital of St. Raphael, Newington Hospital for Children, Veteran's Administration Hospital, Yale Health Plan and Milford Hospital. He is a member of Section of Orthopaedics, Department of Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Veteran's Administration Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael. He is a lecturer, Department of Pediatrics, Newington Hospital for Children and Coordinator, Yale University School of Medicine, Weekly Hand Conference.

Dr. Bradburn received his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and his M.D. degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville, Tennessee. Post graduate work includes an internship and a general surgical residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He completed a 3 year orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and an orthopaedic surgery residency at Newington Hospital for Children. Dr. Bradburn was a Lt. in the U.S. Naval Reserve and served on active duty, the U.S. Marine Corps, 2nd Marine Division, at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

He has given formal presentations and lectures for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Academy of Orthopaedics, American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons and for University of Connecticut Medical Center. Civic minded and community oriented, Dr. Bradburn has volunteered to serve on the following committees: Review Committee, Third Party Payments for both the Connecticut and New Haven County Medical Societies; Planning Committees for the New Clinical Facility, the Memorial Unit Teaching Program and the Operating Room Environment at Yale-New Haven Hospital; Physical Therapy Review Committee; Secretary for Orthopaedic Section, Hospital of St. Raphael; and Board of Directors, New Haven Yacht Club. Dr. Bradburn is an instructor at Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and a member of the church committee, Trinity Episcopal Church on the Green.

Professional memberships include the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Board of Orthopaedics, American Academy Orthopaedic Surgeons, Connecticut State Medical Society, New Haven County Medical Society and the New Haven Medical Association.

An avid pilot, Dr. Bradburn is a commercial and instrument rated pilot. He is a member of the Aircraft Owner's and Pilots Association and Yale Aviation.

David S. Caminear, is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. A New Haven native, he graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986. Following two years of research at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, he graduated summa cum laude from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Chicago, Illinois in 1992.

Next, he completed his residency training in Podiatric Surgery at Edgewater Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Caminear is section chief of podiatric surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He is also on the attending staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital. A scientific author of many peer reviewed publications and book chapters, as well as a national and international lecturer, Dr. Caminear is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Yale University School of Medicine.

He serves as an attending physician in the foot and ankle clinics and has extensive teaching experience with podiatric and orthopaedic surgery residents at The Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Caminear has also taught numerous professional foot and ankle skills courses.

Dr. Caminear is the first podiatric surgeon in Connecticut to join an orthopaedic practice. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care. His expertise is in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma to the foot and ankle, and sports medicine. Connecticut Magazine has twice named him as a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of Podiatry.

Dr. Caminear has served as a volunteer foot and ankle surgeon traveling to third world countries with a team of healthcare professionals in order to provide surgical care for children with congenital and paralytic foot and ankle disorders. He also established Outreach International, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the specialty of foot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Caminear is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of both the Connecticut and American Podiatric Medical Associations. Dr. Caminear resides in Branford Connecticut.

Curtis Campbell, MD, MS, is a board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He attended Fairfield University and was a member of the Varsity football team. He then completed master’s degrees in Evaluative Clinical Sciences from Dartmouth College and Biologic/Medical Sciences from Drexel University. This provided him with an excellent skill set for a career in medicine.

He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. This training emphasized treating the whole patient and providing compassionate care to everyone. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Rutgers University-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ where he received excellent, well-rounded training involving all aspects of orthopaedics. Dr. Campbell pursued advanced training as an Adult Total Joint Reconstruction Fellow at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas.

Dr. Campbell specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery. He performs direct anterior approach hip replacements. This muscle-sparing approach allows for rapid recovery from hip replacement, early return to activities, and has excellent clinical outcomes. He also performs partial knee replacement and complex revision hip and knee surgery. Dr. Campbell uses the most up to date technologies and surgical advances to provide exceptional care for his patients. In addition to total joint reconstruction, his interests also include trauma and fracture care, arthroscopy, and general orthopaedics in which he treats all conditions of both the upper and lower extremity. He reserves surgical treatment for patients that have not had acceptable improvement in their condition after a thorough course of appropriate nonsurgical treatment including physical therapy, medications, injections, and braces as indicated. Dr. Campbell provides patient-centered care and listens to each patient to fully understand his or her problem. He treats every patient as if they were his family member.

Dr. Campbell has completed publications and lectures in his areas of expertise and has also served as faculty at both the Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

As a Fairfield University graduate, Dr. Campbell is thrilled to be back in the area and looks forward to serving the families and communities of Fairfield County.

David B. Cohen M.D. is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is fellowship trained in shoulder, knee, elbow and ankle surgery, arthroscopy, and the management of sports related injuries.

Graduating Cum Laude from Dartmouth College, Dr. Cohen attended the Dartmouth-Brown Combined medical program where he graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell University Medical Center, the number one ranked orthopaedic program in the United States (U.S. News and World Report). He then studied as a traveling fellow under internationally recognized surgeon Professor Christian Gerber in Zurich, Switzerland where he gained experience in the management of complex shoulder problems.

Following his residency, he was selected for a Fellowship in Sports Medicine, Shoulder, and Knee Reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery. There, he learned the most advanced techniques in non-surgical and minimally invasive surgical management of knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle disorders, as well as sports-related injuries.

Dr. Cohen has successfully treated numerous world-class professional athletes including players from the New York Giants and the New York Mets. He is a Clinical Instructor and Attending Physician at Yale New Haven Hospital where he teaches and trains Yale orthopaedic residents, and is a Clinical Associate Professor at Quinnipiac University where he lectures regularly on sports injuries.

The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine has recognized Dr. Cohen with the Excellence in Research Award for his work on rotator cuff injuries (awarded for the year's best Sports Medicine paper.) His research is widely published and has been presented at national and international meetings. His findings have influenced the way rotator cuff injuries are managed today.

Dr. Cohen is the Head Team Physician Quinnipiac University, the Yale Men's Rugby Team, and the Amity Regional High School Football Team. He is the former Head Team Physician for The New Haven County Cutters professional baseball team and has been the assistant team physician for The New York Power women's professional soccer team. Dr. Cohen is a former Dartmouth College Men's Alpine Ski Team member.

Dr. Cohen is the author of multiple peer-reviewed, published research articles and book chapters on knee and shoulder pathology. His research has examined healing after rotator cuff surgery, anterior cruciate ligament graft placement, cartilage repair in the knee, and arthroscopic labral repair in the athlete's shoulder. He has been a member of the faculty at professional education courses, and has lectured extensively at Yale-New Haven Hospital, The Hospital For Special Surgery, and Quinnipiac University. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Cohen's surgical bc_specialties include the all-arthroscopic management of rotator-cuff tears, shoulder dislocations, and labral tears of the shoulder; total shoulder replacement for arthritis; knee arthroscopy for meniscal tears, ACL ruptures, patella dislocations, and cartilage injuries; total knee replacement for arthritis; treatment of ligament and tendon disorders of the elbow and ankle. Whenever appropriate, Dr. Cohen is a strong proponent of non-surgical management and rehabilitation of these injuries.

A graduate with Distinction in psychology from McGill, Dr. Cohen received his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University and subsequently completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. He completed fellowship training in Spine and Occupational Medicine at Boston's New England Baptist Hospital with a focus on spinal intervention and functional restoration. Dr. Cohen has been practicing at The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center in Trumbull, CT since 2001. Dr. Cohen is triple board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, He is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society, where he serves as Vice Chairman of the Education Committee and is a national level Instructor of interventional spinal procedures. His other professional affiliations include The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, North American Spine Society, and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Quinnipiac Frank Netter School of Medicine.

Dr. Daigneault, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializes in Sports Medicine injuries, with a subspecialty in shoulders. He carries out a variety of complicated and unusual procedures done infrequently by other orthopedists in the area, in addition to standard orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Daigneault graduated from Holy Cross College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and from Boston College with a Masters in Biochemistry. He attended Albany Medical College where he received his doctor of medicine. His surgical residency was at the Yale University School of Medicine. His fellowship in Sports Medicine was carried out at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.

Dr. Daigneault was a faculty member at the Yale School of Medicine for ten years. During that period his coverage included private patients as well as coverage for sports injuries for the New Haven Nighthawks and Yale University Varsity Football and Hockey, as well as the Yale University Intramural Football and Soccer. During 2000 to 2001 he was the Head Team Physician for the New Haven Ravens. Dr. Daigneault joined the Center for Orthopaedics in 2000.

Dr. Daigneault is very active in his home community as the commissioner in a youth basketball league as well as coach and advisor in youth sports programs. He is married and has three children.

Jeffrey M. DeLott, joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists in 2001 after completing a three year podiatric surgical residency at the prestigious Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and certified in foot and ankle surgery.

He is an attending surgeon and clinical instructor at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Hospital of Saint Raphael and Milford Hospital. He teaches podiatric and orthopedic surgical residents at the Hospital of Saint Raphael and Yale-New Haven Hospital. He currently provides care to athletes from Quinnipiac and Yale University and volunteers time to area high schools and youth programs.

After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Exercise Physiology Dr. DeLott went on to the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine completing his degree in 1998. During his residency he became involved in Philadelphia's largest interdisciplinary wound care center for diabetic limb salvage and charcot reconstruction. He was involved with multiple biomechanical studies of the lower extremity while training at the Gait Study Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. DeLott has extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle care including trauma, diabetic wound care and limb salvage, bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, heel pain and a particular interest in sports medicine and foot surgery.

Dr. DeLott has contributed expert foot and ankle content to various health related web sites and publications, including a text "Foot and Ankle Pearls."

He is a member of the American and Connecticut Podiatric Medical Association and a Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.

Dr. DeLott resides in Cheshire with his wife Cynthia, daughter Alexa, and son Trevor. He is an avid triathlete and marathon finisher.

Peter A. DeLuca, M.D., joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C. in March 1996 as the group's Pediatric Orthopaedist.

From 1986 - 1996, Dr. DeLuca served as a Senior Orthopaedic Attending Surgeon at Newington Children's Hospital, Newington, Connecticut. There he served as the Director of the Hip, Foot and Cerebral Palsy Services, as well as Medical Director of the Gait Analysis Laboratory. He continues in this later role at the new Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC) Center for Motion Analysis now located in Farmington.

Dr. DeLuca is on the active medical staff of Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he performs the majority of his surgeries. A graduate of Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, North Carolina, he completed Pediatric and General Surgery Internships, and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. A fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery was received through Newington Children's Hospital. His clinical areas of special interest within Orthopaedics include correction of deformities of the hip, leg and foot, trauma and cerebral palsy. He has extensive expertise in the use of the Russian and Italian Ilizarov technique of limb lengthening and deformity correction in both children and adults.

He continues his academic pursuits as an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. DeLuca lectures nationally and internationally in the areas of Gait Analysis, Cerebral Palsy and Disorders of the child's hip, and has published extensively on these topics.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM), Eastern Orthopaedic Association (EOA), and Connecticut State Medical Society. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Doctor Diana is a highly trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery. His expertise in minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery provides state of the art treatment for sports and nonsports related injuries in patients of all ages. His specialized surgical training, when combined with his unique history as an NFL football player and collegiate football & baseball All American, uniquely qualifies him to understand and treat athletes who have suffered sports injuries.

He graduated from Yale in 1982 cum laude with a degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Upon graduation he was one of Yale's most celebrated student-athletes receiving numerous Yale and national distinctions including The President Gerald Ford Award, The Mallory Award as well as The SIDA, The Hartford and Miller Lite Beer Consensus Football All American honors. He was a GTE Football Academic All American and one of twelve scholar athletes recognized by The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. In baseball he was selected as an honorable mention All American as well as All Ivy and All EIBL. No other orthopaedic surgeon has been named both 1st team Division I Football All American and Academic All American.

After graduation he was drafted by the Miami Dolphins and played in Super Bowl XVII. Besides Doctor Diana, no other orthopaedic surgeon has ever played in the Super Bowl. He retired from the NFL to attend Yale School of Medicine where he graduated in 1987. He completed his orthopaedic residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital and then received fellowship certification in orthopaedic sports medicine from long time Boston Red Sox team physician Arthur Pappas at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. After completing his fellowship he worked with The Boston Red Sox for six years as an Orthopaedic consultant.

Doctor Diana is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In 2006 and in each consecutive year he has been named to Dr. Stephen Sinatra's esteemed Top 100 Doctors in America. He has been in practice with COS since 1993 and one of the managing partners since 1995. Dr. Diana is currently a Clinical Instructor and attending surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and an attending surgeon at The Hospital of Saint Raphael. He is or had been a collegiate orthopaedic sports consultant at Yale, Quinnipiac and Southern Connecticut State University and a high school orthopaedic sports consultant at Hamden High School, Cheshire High School, North Haven High School, Staples High School, Wilbur Cross High School, North Branford High School and Shelton High School. He has written articles in medical and sports related books and journals. He is author of the soon to be released book, The Joint-Healthy Lifestyle.

An alumnus of Hamden High School, Doctor Diana has been inducted into Hamden's Distinguished Alumni and Athletic Hall of Fames. He is a 1993 inductee of The New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame and was nominated for the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.

Over the past 2 decades he has been honored for substantial community service as a Distinguished American by The New Haven Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame, Chamber Choice Award recipient by The Chamber of Commerce, Paul Harris Award honoree by The Rotary foundation of Rotary International, Distinguished Service Award recipient by The Unitas Club, Gold Key Award recipient by Connecticut Sports Writers, Unsung Hero Award recipient by The All American Football Foundation, Gold Bat Award recipient by W.H. Twilight, National Scholar Athlete Alumni Association Platinum Member and Elm City Legends Award recipient by The March of Dimes.

Doctor Diana continues to play an active role in the community by volunteering his services to help various local athletic programs. Through The Diana Family Charitable Trust he enthusiastically supports the community.

Dr. Richard Diana lives in Hamden, CT with his wife, Ann and children, Jack and Megan.

Dr. Douglass specializes in hand, wrist, elbow and nerve surgery in addition to orthopedic trauma. Dr. Douglass earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, double-majoring in Chemical Engineering and Biology. He received his M.D. from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Douglass completed internship, orthopedic surgery residency, and served as Chief Orthopedic Resident at Stanford University, Stanford, CA. Dr. Douglass completed the Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University, training under hand surgeons from the Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery Departments. The Stanford Hand Service is a quaternary referral center receiving complex cases referred by other surgeons. Dr. Douglass had the opportunity to perform complex reconstructive surgeries, pediatric hand surgery, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve repairs and reconstructions, microvascular and trauma surgery. Dr. Douglass has completed numerous publications, book chapters, and research projects, and received the Chief Resident Research Award while at Stanford. Dr. Douglass's projects have focused on a broad array of subjects including hand and wrist conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease, tumors, scapholunate ligament, arthritic conditions, biomechanics, surgical technique videos, as well as medical devices used for hand, wrist and upper extremity surgery. During his time in residency and fellowship, Dr. Douglass has had the pleasure of serving patients at private and public hospitals, pediatric hospitals, as well as the Veteran's Hospital of Palo Alto. Whichever type of patient he sees in his office, Dr. Douglass strives to be a compassionate doctor while providing the best possible medical care.

Allen M. Ferrucci, M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon and the newest physician at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists. Dr. Ferrucci's surgical interests include arthroscopic and open treatment of foot and ankle as well as shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He is fellowship trained and joins us directly from the renowned Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Westerville, Ohio. He attained his undergraduate degree from Boston College where he graduated Summa cum laude and his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine, graduating Cum laude. He completed his residency nearby at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Dr. Ferrucci treats a wide array of orthopaedic problems, but has special interest in the lower extremity. His practice focuses on foot and ankle sports medicine, reconstruction, arthroplasty, and trauma. He will be seeing patients at five of our neighborhood offices including several shoreline locations. He is an attending surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael. Dr. Ferrucci is also a Board of Directors Resident Member of the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society as well as a Resident Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

An accomplished speaker, Dr. Ferrucci has lectured on a variety of topics ranging from "The Effects of Smoking on the Musculoskeletal System" to "Management of Blood Loss in Orthopaedic Surgery."

Dr. Ferrucci is excited to be back in his home state. A native of North Branford, he loves sports of all kinds, especially basketball and softball. During his residency he held assistant team physician roles at high schools in Clinton and Wallingford and also provided medical assistance at the New Haven Open at Yale (U.S. Open Series).

Now that he's back in New England, he's looking forward to pursuing some of his favorite outdoor activities including backpacking, hiking, camping, and canoeing.

Dr. Girasole is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who has completed his Spinal Fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Disease in New York City. He has extensive experience in the treatment of lumbar disc disease, neck pain, scoliosis, herniated discs, spinal stenosis in both operative and non-operative techniques. He has a well-equipped office with the capability of doing physiatry, injection and physical therapy for patients with low back pain. Dr. Girasole is on the forefront of Minimally Invasive surgical techniques for patients with low back pain and he is very active in the training of other surgeons in the various techniques. He has recently completed an FDA trial study for the treatment of patients with back pain with a Total Disc Replacement procedure. He has been actively involved with both the training and the concepts to decide which patients are candidates for a Total Disc Replacement. He is very active in the Academic Society for the Spine and teaches yearly at several accredited spinal courses. Dr. Michelle Pagliaro Haywood has been a part of OSM since 1998. At that time OSM was one of the first orthopaedic offices in the state offering chiropractic care. A graduate of Brown University with a degree in Human Biology. She received a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL in 1997 where she graduated summa cum laude. She is also a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. Dr. Michelle Pagliaro Haywood has been the team chiropractor for Sacred Heart University since 1998 and served as the team chiropractor for the Bridgeport Bluefish for 10 years. She is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Clinical Services for the University of Bridgeport Chiropractic School. She specializes in chiropractic care for expectant mothers during pregnancy, treatment of the spine, and for sports injuries. In 2012, She was inducted into the Brown University Athletic Department Hall of Fame, where she played basketball and softball for the Bears. She was recognized by Griffin Hospital in 2013 as one of the Women Making a Difference in the Valley.

Dr. Irving is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, who specializes in Arthritis Surgery, Total Joint Replacement and all aspects of adult reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee. His primary focus is on joint preservation and reconstruction for arthritic, degenerative and post-traumatic conditions. This includes Arthroscopy and Osteotomy, as well as Total Joint Replacement.

Dr. Irving graduated from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 1982, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He was awarded the Gold Scalpel Surgical Award by the Department of Surgery. In 1987, he completed a five-year residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota.

Dr. Irving has been an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon in the New Haven area since 1987. He is an Attending Surgeon at Milford Hospital and Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the Yale University School of Medicine.

The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certifies Dr. Irving. Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Irving is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and has been elected to The Society of Arthritic Joint Surgeons. Dr. Irving was born in New Haven and raised in Milford, graduating from Milford High School. He received a BS degree in Biology cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, where he was varsity member of the U.S. National Champion Crew in 1973 and Captain in 1975. Besides his family, his other interests include golf, scuba diving and other outdoor activities.

Dr. Irving's practice focuses on minimally invasive surgical techniques for hip and knee replacements. Norman R, Kaplan is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He is Fellowship trained in sports medicine with a subspecialty in knee and shoulder injuries which was completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. He is a partner at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., since August of l983.

He is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital, Hospital of St. Raphael and a clinical attending for the Yale Health Plan and the Department of Athletics at Yale University. He is also and attending physician for Yale Hospital and Hospital of St. Raphael's Orthopaedic Clinics.

Dr. Kaplan received his BS degree from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT and his MD degree from New York Medical College. He did his internship and orthopaedic residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. His sports medicine fellowship was completed at the Hospital for Special Surgery, specializing in arthroscopy, knee and shoulder injuries.

Dr. Kaplan is affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Medial Association, The New Haven County Medical Society, The Connecticut State Medical Association, and the Connecticut State Orthopaedic Association. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, John Dennis Kelley, M.D. particular expertise involves treatment of injuries to the shoulder and knee with emphasis on sports related injuries. Currently he is an attending surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Milford Hospital, Hospital of St. Raphael and the Temple Surgical Center.

Dr. Kelley received his B.A. degree from Yale University and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his residency in general surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, followed by an orthopaedic surgery residency at both Yale-New Haven Hospital and Newington Children's Hospital. A recipient of a Sports Medicine Fellowship, Dr. Kelley studied Sports Medicine at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic, Inglewood, California.

While in California, Dr. Kelley provided sports medicine coverage for the following professional and college teams: L.A. Rams, Lakers, Kings, Dodgers, California Angels; and Loyola Marymount University, University of Southern CA, California State University, LA Branch. Currently, Dr. Kelley is the orthopaedic consult for the local AA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, the New Haven Ravens.

Dr. Kelley has presented at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and at Newington Children's Hospital, Newington, CT. Articles for publication have appeared in Dr. F.W. Jobe's Operative Techniques in Upper Extremity Sports Injuries, St. Louis Mosby-Year Book and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. A resident of Branford, CT, Dr. Kelley joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C. in 1992. Hobbies and outside interests include family, golf and tennis. Dr. Kelley also provides voluntary coverage at area high school sporting events.

Jeffrey M. Klauser, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, PC having joined the team in 2012 and opening the Shelton office. He has additional subspecialty training in arthroscopic surgery and the treatment of sports related injuries in patients of all ages.

Dr. Klauser's passion for team sports began at a young age while participating in community-sponsored athletics. Dr. Klauser has fond memories of the time he spent at Shelton High School where he lettered in football and basketball. It was during this time he witnessed first-hand the importance of quality medical treatment for young athletes. His love of sports along with his dedication to care for and serve his community is what ultimately led him to pursue his career in the field of sports medicine.

When surgery is necessary, Dr. Klauser often utilizes minimally invasive, arthroscopic techniques. This approach reduces post-operative recovery time and allows an early return to work and play. Dr. Klauser received a bachelor of science in premed with a concentration in biopsychology and cognitive science at the University of Michigan. He went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center.

Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Klauser was selected to become a sports medicine fellow under the tutelage of world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. While at the Andrews Institute, Dr. Klauser worked side-by-side with Dr. Andrews where he learned advanced techniques to care for the highest level of professional athlete and young amateur athletes alike. His team physician experience included the Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, Washington Nationals, Auburn University, Pensacola Blue Wahoos, University of West Florida, and multiple high school sports teams, including the Under Armour All-American Team. Dr. Klauser has served as team orthopaedic physician for the Bridgeport Blue Fish.

Dr. Klauser's research includes studies on the treatment of rotator cuff injuries as well as complex knee trauma. He has served as faculty at both the ASMI Annual Injuries in Baseball and Football courses, and has served as an instructor at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has presented grand rounds several times at Albany Medical Center and at the Andrews Institute.

A native of Connecticut, Dr. Klauser resides in Shelton with his wife, Rachel, and their two daughters Olivia and Zoey. His interests include spending time with his family, fishing, and golfing.

Dr. Kenneth Kramer is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in adult and pediatric spinal problems.

Born in Huntington, N.Y., Dr. Kramer received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Wesleyan University and his Medical Degree from New York University School of Medicine. He then completed his General Surgery Internship and his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Yale Medical School, followed by a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at University of Maryland Medical School. Upon completion of his training he joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, with whom he has spent his entire professional career.

Dr. Kramer is an Attending Surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital and The Hospital of Saint Raphael, and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale Medical School. He is Past President and Past Vice-President of the New England Spine Study Group, and a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Yale Orthopaedic Association, Connecticut State Medical Society, New Haven County Medical Association, and Health Volunteers Overseas. A published author and frequently requested speaker, his presentations have included those for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, New England Spine Study Group, Yale Orthopaedic Association, Southern Connecticut Scoliosis Association, Connecticut Athletic Trainers Association, Yale Medical School Orthopaedic Grand Rounds, and Hospital of Saint Raphael Community Education Seminars.

Dr. Kramer's practice involves both the surgical and nonsurgical management of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal conditions. He has a particular interest in evolving minimally-invasive surgical techniques,as well as percutaneous and injection therapy.

Outside of the office, Dr. Kramer most enjoys spending time with his wife Robin and their five kids, sharing their interests in sports, musical performance and travel. He is an avid jazz and classical trumpeter, tennis player, cyclist and reader. He is secretary of his college class and serves on the board of directors of the Yale Orthopaedic Association and the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Amit Lahav is a board certified orthopedic surgeon known amongst his patients for his superb surgical skills as well as his outstanding bedside manner. He is proficient in arthroscopic surgery and minimally invasive total joint replacement surgery, including computer navigation and robotic-assisted surgery. He has a special interest in state-of-the-art surgical technology to provide more accurate and precise results in joint replacement.

Dr. Lahav is currently a member of the Active Attending Staff at Connecticut's Milford Hospital, where he has introduced a number of innovative ideas for orthopedic care. He has authored numerous articles, lectured at several national medical conferences, and currently hosts a TV medical program called Health Care from the Hill on Citizens TV in New Haven County. He serves on the Connecticut State Medical Society Aspects of Sports Medicine Committee and in 2011 was awarded the prestigious Milford Hospital Outstanding Physician for Clinical Excellence Award.

After earning his bachelor's degree in Engineering at Cooper Union, Dr. Lahav graduated from New York's prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1998 and served as Chief Resident in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He also completed two fellowships at the University of Utah, Orthopedic Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy and Adult Joint Reconstruction Surgery. He served as a visiting instructor at the University of Utah and an attending staff member in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Salt Lake City Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Dr. Lieponis is a Diplomat of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a highly respected Board Certified surgeon who has been involved in the management of spinal problems for over 20 years. He received his spinal training from some of the world's best spinal surgeons at Loyola University Hospital, Shiners Children's Hospital, as well as Yale University Hospital. In addition to participating in patient care, he has engaged in teaching, research, and the development of minimally invasive techniques and instruments for spinal surgery.

Dr. Lieponis came to Connecticut after completing his Orthopedic training at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. He performed a spinal fellowship in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at Yale Univeristy. He continued as a full time faculty member at Yale University Medical Center and served as Chief of the Orthopedic Section at West Haven Veterans Hospital.

Dr. Lorenze completed his undergraduate degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He then attended Tufts University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, where he graduated with his Medical Degree in 1992, giving him over two decades of experience in his field. While at Tufts Medical School, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honors Society, awarded to medical school graduates at the top of their class.

After obtaining his Medical Degree, Dr. Lorenze completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency with Yale-New Haven Hospital. Following his internship and residency, he undertook his hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at Tufts University. Dr. Lorenze is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. In order to stay up to date in his field he maintains a Professional Membership with the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Connecticut State Medical Society, Middlesex County Medical Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Lorenze specializes in hand and upper extremity injuries, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement surgery as well as work related and cumulative trauma injuries. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Middlesex Hospital. Dr. Lorenze maintains a position on the Middlesex Hospital Board of Governors.

A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Luster has special interests in knee and shoulder surgery, sports medicine, and total joint replacement. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Luster is a Senior Attending physician at Middlesex Hospital.

Dr. Lynch is a native of the New Haven area, born at Yale-New Haven Hospital and raised in the Spring Glen area of Hamden. A graduate of Hopkins Grammar School, he then attended Lafayette College and later graduated with "High Distinction" from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. While at Wayne State, Dr. Lynch was also elected into the AOA, the National Medical Honors Society.

After completing his five year orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center/R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, he traveled to Denver, Colorado, where he spent a year as a Fellow specializing in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Colorado Joint Replacement. While in Colorado, under the direction of Dr. Douglas Dennis and Dr. Brian Haas, he trained as a specialist in primary and revision arthroplasty of the knee and hip.

He continues to pursue related research interests which have produced various recent chapter, journal and internet publications focused on modern concepts in Total Knee and Total Hip Arthroplasty.

Dr.Lynch has been in private practice since 2004. In the years that followed, Dr.Lynch performed the first computer navigated total knee arthroplasty in New Haven County at Milford Hospital.

John Marino, M.D. is a physician board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (Physiatry) and has been with Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, PC since 2001. Dr Marino specializes in the non-surgical care of musculoskeletal injuries and some chronic painful conditions.

Born in Teaneck, N.J., Dr Marino attended college at University of California, San Diego and medical school at Howard University. He completed a one year internship in Internal Medicine and subsequently a 3 year residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Nassau County Medical Center on Long Island, N.Y. His residency training included serving as Chief Resident his final year. Dr Marino worked with an orthopaedic group in New Hyde Park, N.Y. for 5 years before joining Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists in 2001.

The medical specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as physiatry, includes the care of orthopaedic injuries and chronic painful conditions that may not require surgery. Some of the more common injuries/ailments treated by Dr Marino are neck and back pain (including sciatica), sports injuries (e.g. tendonitis), arthritis, occupational injuries (e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome), fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and peripheral neuropathies. Treatment may involve medication, exercise instruction, referral to physical therapy, bracing, joint injections, trigger point injections, and sometimes referral to an orthopaedic surgeon.

Physiatrists also perform important diagnostic tests called nerve conduction studies and electromyography. These 2 tests help diagnose common neurologic and orthopaedic problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, and peripheral neuropathy. Dr Marino performs the study himself (i.e. there is no technologist) and explains how the test is done before starting.

Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists began providing bone densitometry testing in 2009 under the supervision of Dr Marino. A bone density study is a painless test that screens for the common, but potentially debilitating, condition of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a "thinning" of the bones that places patients at an increased risk for fractures. Dr Marino interprets and reviews the results of the bone densitometry immediately following your test. He'll review treatment options including diet, exercise, and medication.

Dr Marino is active in the community providing medical supervision at local high school footbal games, as well as treating Yale University students and staff. He lives with his family in Orange, CT.

Dr. Martin is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and performed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the George Washington University. He is Board Certified with additional certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as an Active Member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. As a member of Orthopaedics Overseas, he served at St Georges Hospital in St Lucia. He is an OSM team physician to Sacred Heart University as well as St Joseph's, Masuk, Shelton and Trumbull High Schools. Dr. Martin's surgical interests include Reconstructive Shoulder Surgery, Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Trauma and Fracture care. He is a full time staff member at St Vincent's Hospital but also has courtesy privileges at Bridgeport and Griffin Hospitals.

Rowland B. Mayor, M.D., is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery, adult and pediatric sports medicine and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder.

He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, graduating Magna cum Laude. After one year of research at the National Institute of Health, Dr. Mayor received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopaedic surgery at both the Montefiore Medical Center and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He then went on to receive a year of specialty training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine acknowledged this extensive research by granting him the O'Donoghue Sports Injury Research Award.

Primarily working at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Temple Ambulatory Center, Dr. Mayor is also a member of the Yale School of Medicine clinical faculty and an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Mayor's recreational interests include bicycling, tennis, ice hockey and soccer. He resides in Guilford with his wife, Stephanie, and their three children.

John D. McCallum, III joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C. in 1995 after completing a fellowship in joint replacement surgery at the Rothman Institute of Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. The Rothman Institute is considered one of the nation's leading training programs in joint reconstruction.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. McCallum completed a surgical internship at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He served as Chief Resident at UMMC from 1993-1994. He also earned a Master's degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University.

Currently a clinical instructor at Yale University School of Medicine, he is also an attending physician at the Hospital of Saint Raphael. Dr. McCallum has written a number of articles in orthopaedic journals and has presented orthopaedic grand rounds at Yale-New Haven and Thomas Jefferson Hospitals. He has been on the faculty of multiple national hip and knee reconstruction meetings and a presenter at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. McCallum, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon is a member of the American Medical Association, the Connecticut State, New Haven County, and Milford Medical Societies. He is also a member of the Connecticut State Orthopaedic Society, Yale Orthopaedic Association, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dr. McCallum specializes in hip and knee problems including arthritic and sports related injuries. He has been an innovator of hip and knee arthroscopic surgery, salvage and reconstructive techniques, including minimally invasive treatments.

He lives with his wife and two children in Guilford, CT. Besides his family, his interests include cycling, sailing, skiing, woodworking and car restoration.

Dr. Minotti earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1989 and worked for a large Massachusetts defense contractor before deciding to go to medical school in 1994. After graduating cum laude from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Dr. Minotti completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He received the Everett J. Gordon award as the outstanding chief resident of his class and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. In 2005, Dr. Minotti completed a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia.

Affiliations include membership in the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Minotti joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists in 2005. His professional interests include minimally invasive surgery and alternative bearing surfaces such as ceramics and metals. He currently resides in Orange with his wife and two children.

Thomas P. Moran joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., in October 1996. His areas of expertise are adult and pediatric fracture care, hand/elbow/shoulder surgery, arthroscopy, and tendon repairs.

Dr. Moran completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with distinction at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He then went on to Cornell University Medical School, New York, NY, where he received The T. Campbell Thompson prize in Orthopaedics and was inducted into the AOA Medical Honor Society.

He began his surgical training with a General Surgical Internship at the University of Hawaii, and from there, completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Residency and Hand and Microvascular fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY.

He is a member of the American Academy for Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery

Dr. Moran is married to Dr. Meena Moran, an Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Yale-New Haven Hospital. They have two sons and a daughter and live in Guilford.

Dr. Michael J. Murphy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine in 1974. He works in Madison, CT and 2 other locations and specializes in Orthopaedic Surgery Of Spine. Dr. Murphy is affiliated with Milford Hospital Inc, Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus.

Stephen Nelson, MD, is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. Born and raised in Connecticut, he went on to attend Wheaton College (IL) where he played lacrosse and graduated cum laude. He earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at the Yale University School of Medicine where he received exceptional training involving all aspects of orthopaedics. As chief resident, he served as a clinical instructor of orthopaedics for the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Nelson then completed an additional year of advanced training as an Adult Total Joint Reconstruction Fellow at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Nelson believes in a patient-centered care model which only considers hip or knee replacement after exhausting all other more conservative measures. Once a decision is made for surgery, he utilizes minimally invasive arthroplasty techniques and technologies to improve outcomes following hip and knee replacement. He performs direct anterior approach total hip arthroplasty - a muscle sparing technique which has been shown to expedite postoperative recovery after hip replacement. His clinical interests include complex revision hip and knee arthroplasty as well as orthopaedic trauma and fracture care.

Dr. Nelson has written numerous reports and articles published in leading orthopaedic textbooks and journals. In addition, he has contributed numerous presentations and surgical videos to national orthopaedic conferences. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dr. Nelson currently lives in New Haven with his wife and son and enjoys volunteering his skills and talents out and about within the community. He is an attending team physician for a high school in Wallingford, Women’s Tennis Association and provides medical assistance at the New Haven Open.

When he is not working or spending time with family, you may find him mountain biking, running, playing lacrosse or traveling. He also has interests in woodworking and furniture design.

Dr. Padegimas has joined CT Orthopaedic Specialists as an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. His specific focus is shoulder and elbow replacement, rotator cuff repair, management of shoulder instability, and arthroscopy of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Padegimas grew up in Manchester, Connecticut and completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He then completed medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society.

Dr. Padegimas completed his residency training at The Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, a top five nationally ranked orthopaedic department that provides care for the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers. There Dr. Padegimas received numerous honors including the Mark Chilton MD award for outstanding kindness and compassion, the Orthopaedic In-service Training Examination award for academic excellence, and the Everett J. Gordon MD award for outstanding clinical achievement. Additionally, he held a number of leadership positions including serving as the editor in chief of the Jefferson Orthopaedic Journal, the coordinator of the Jefferson Orthopaedic Research Day, the resident representative for the Alpha Omega Alpha C. McCollister Evarts Resident Leadership Forum, and the chief resident of the department.

Following completion of his residency, Dr. Padegimas was chosen to stay on at the Rothman Institute pursuing an additional year of advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow reconstructive surgery. This prestigious fellowship is the highest volume shoulder replacement center in the United States. There he learned a number of advanced techniques in shoulder and elbow reconstruction and arthroscopic/sports applications to the shoulder and elbow.

Academically, Dr. Padegimas has written over forty peer reviewed publications in several orthopaedic surgery journals on shoulder replacement, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, elbow replacement, and a wide variety of general orthopaedic topics. He is also a manuscript and study reviewer for four national and international orthopaedic surgery journals including the two highest impact journals in shoulder and elbow surgery and joint reconstruction. His work has been presented over fifty times at national and international orthopaedic conferences.

Dr. Padegimas is moving back home to Connecticut with his wife, Allie, son, Dennis, and dog, Koko. His wife Allie is also an accomplished physician, she is currently the chief fellow of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Their family enjoys hiking, running, and going to rock concerts.

Dr Rakesh Patel is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He is fellowship trained in the treatment of acute and chronic pain.

Dr Patel graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society . He then went to SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he obtained his MD in 1994. He completed his internship in medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola Long Island , residency in Anesthesiology at Stony Brook University Hospital , and a Pain Management fellowship At Syracuse University Hospital which was completed in 1999. He has been in private practice in Connecticut for the past 12 years delivering high quality care to those in pain . Dr Patel is highly regarded by his patients and his peers for his compassionate care and excellent diagnostic abilities. He has gained the admiration and confidence of his patients by listening and addressing their concerns regarding how pain is affecting their lives.

Dr Patel is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologist, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Connecticut Pain Society, American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Connecticut Medical Society and New Haven County Medical Society.

Dr Patel offers a comprehensive approach to pain management using interventional , medical ,and rehabilitative techniques. He specializes in diagnostic and therapeutic fluoroscopically-guided cervical and lumbar spine procedures, radiofrequency neurotomy and joint injections . The ultimate goal is to relieve the patients pain and improve their function and quality of life.

Dr Patel is married to Dr Nomita Bhawal , a cardiac anesthesiologist , at St Vincent's Hospital , Bridgeport. They have 3 sons and 1 daughter and live in Wallingford. His interests include family time, baseball, basketball, football , travel , and music.

Dr. Redler is a founding partner of The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center. He specializes in sports medicine as well as hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Redler attended medical school at the University of Connecticut. He did his residency training, including Chief Residency year, at the University of Virginia, where he also completed his Fellowship training in sports medicine and upper extremity with one of the godfathers of sports medicine, Dr. Frank C. McCue, III. Currently, Dr. Redler is a visiting Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Virginia. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor at Sacred Heart University for the Departments of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy. Dr. Redler is also an Assistant Professor at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Additionally, Dr. Redler is the head team physician for Sacred Heart University and all of their 32 Division I varsity teams. He formerly took care of the Bridgeport Bluefish for their first eleven years and was a consultant to major league lacrosse. Dr. Redler has written numerous articles and textbook chapters on topics of sports medicine as well as hand and upper extremity surgery. His clinical research interests have been presented both nationally and internationally. Dr. Redler has been part of the faculty of meetings and chairman of instructional course lectures that have been held in the United States, Europe, Japan and South America. He has authored technique guides on upper extremity surgical techniques for athletic injuries and degenerative conditions. Also, he has created instructional videos on minimally invasive techniques for athletic upper extremity injuries. Dr. Redler has lectured frequently at the Becker Ambulatory Surgical Center meetings in Chicago, earning him a spot on the list of top people to know in ambulatory surgery. Additionally, he has designed multiple surgical instruments that are still used in the operating room around the world today. Amidst all of his accomplishments, Dr. Redler still feels that his most important activity is the best possible care of his patients as well as the ongoing education of future sports medicine providers.

Dr. Alan Reznik is Board-Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Sports Medicine. Dr. Reznik received his B.S.degree from Columbia University's School of Engineering. He attended the Yale University School of Medicine where he graduated with his medical degree. He was a visiting Fellow in England at Oxford University at the renowned Nuffield Orthopedic Centre. He went on to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship at University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Reznik has served as Court Physician at the US Open Tennis Tournament, served on the 1995 Special Olympics Games Organizing Committee and was privileged to be the Team Physician for the New Haven Knights Professional Hockey Team.  He truly enjoys working with competitive, recreational, and weekend athletes of ages. He enjoys golfing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding.

Connecticut Magazine has rated him as a “Top Doc” in the state for the last 17 years in a row as a result of cumulative ratings by his orthopedic surgeon peers, physicians, nurses and patients.Consumer’s Research Council of America has also named him one of “America’s Top Physicians.”  Dr.Reznik was a founding member of the Yale New Haven Hospital’s Orthopaedic Trauma Team.

It has a fall risk check list and a guide to how to make your home safe for everyone. He hopes these books will help all patients live better, healthier, active lives with less injuries and if they do get hurt by a fall, sports participation or other injury then they will know what to do next.

Dr. Glenn S. Russo has joined CT Orthopaedic Specialists as a spine, back and neck specialist. Raised in Guilford, CT, Dr. Russo graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and has been in practice for 6 years. He completed a residency at the Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to that he received a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stonehill College in Easton, MA.

Most recently, Dr. Russo completed his fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the renowned Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. There, he also served as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.

Dr. Russo has published numerous articles, contributed to many textbooks, and is a frequent presenter on matters related to his subspecialty. He is an active member of The North American Spine Society, The American Orthopaedic Association, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and The CT Orthopaedic Society.

His other interests include sports, travel, backpacking, live music, home brewing and motorcycle repair.

Patrick A. Ruwe, M.D. joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C. in July, 1999, with expertise in Sports Medicine, Shoulder and Knee Surgery. From 1993 to 1999, Dr. Ruwe was an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and an Associate at the Yale Sports Medicine Center on Long Wharf in New Haven. While at Yale, Dr. Ruwe was the Co-Director of the Yale Shoulder Center and an Orthopaedic Team Physician for the Yale University Athletic Programs.

Dr. Ruwe received a B.S. in Environmental Biology at Yale College where he was a three year starter on the varsity football team under legendary coach Carm Cozza and a heavyweight wrestling letterman. He was elected by his teammates the 106th Yale Football Captain in 1982 and was selected an Academic All-American.

Dr. Ruwe graduated cum laude from the Yale School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital winning multiple awards for his research. Dr. Ruwe completed a fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles where he was involved in the care of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kings, Rams, Angels and Dodgers. He continued to consult with the Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball Club after graduation.

Dr. Ruwe is the author of an extensive collection of scientific articles and four book chapters. His research has included studies on shoulder function in swimmers, post operative pain management in knee arthroscopy and the use of MRI to detect sports injuries. He has presented his work nationally and internationally. Dr. Ruwe’s history includes membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the National Orthopaedic Educational Society, the American Medical Association, The Connecticut Medical Society, the New Haven County Medical Society, and the Yale Orthopaedic Association. He currently serves as the President of the National Orthopaedic Educational Society.

Dr. Ruwe remains active at Yale University where he has served as the Head Orthopaedic Team Physician for the Bulldogs and Head Orthopedic Consultant at Yale Health Plan. He is the long serving President of the Yale Football Association. He has also served as the Chair of the Blue Leadership Ball at Yale, and on numerous search committees and honors committees at Yale. He is the vice president of the Yale Sports Federation.

Dr. Ruwe is the President of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialist, the largest private orthopedic practice in New England and is Medical Director of the COS Surgical Center in Branford. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery with an added Certificate of Qualification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Frank H Netter MD Medical School at Quinnipiac University.

For his many leadership roles, Dr. Ruwe was awarded the prestigious George H W Bush Lifetime of Leadership Award by Yale University in 2015.

Dr. Ruwe lives with his wife Stacy and their three children in Branford, CT. His interests include his family, golf, travel, and fishing. He has been an orthopedic consultant to USC Men’s Volleyball, SCSU Football, Branford Little League, Guilford High School, Foran and Jonathan Law High School, Laurelton Hall, The New Haven Beast Hockey Club, The Connecticut Wolves Junior Hockey Club, and the Special Olympics World Games.

He currently sees patients in Wallingford, Guilford, Orange, Branford and Hamden.

Mark W. Scanlan, M.D. joined Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists in 2005. He is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty interest in trauma/fracture surgery and surgery of the hand, wrist and elbow.

After graduating with honors from Duke University, Dr. Scanlan obtained his medical degree from Columbia University where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed a year of general surgical training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City followed by 4 years of orthopaedic residency training at the New York Orthopaedic Hospital of Columbia University. Dr. Scanlan then went on to complete a year of fellowship training in surgery of the hand, wrist and elbow at the Hospital for Joint Diseases/New York University Medical School. Following this he traveled briefly to Tampa, Florida to train in orthopaedic trauma surgery.

Dr. Scanlan is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is an attending surgeon and clinical instructor at Yale New Haven Hospital/ Yale University School of Medicine and the Hospital of Saint Rapheal in New Haven, CT.

Dr. Scanlan has published book chapters and scientific literature in the hand and trauma surgery literature. His areas of interest include trauma/fracture care of the upper and lower extremities and surgery of the hand, wrist and elbow. He lives with his wife and three children in Branford, CT.

Dr. Aaron Schachter is a specialist in sports medicine and arthroscopy as well as minimally invasive joint surgery and reconstructive shoulder surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has also been a member in good standing of the Milford Hospital Department of Orthopedic Surgery since 2008. He is a member of the Milford Medical Society, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

Dr. Schachter provides orthopedic care for patients with athletic injuries and trauma-related orthopedic injuries. He graduated magna cum laude from Wake Forest University in North Carolina, then returned to his native Kentucky to earn his M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Schachter completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, and he has also undergone training in orthopedic trauma surgery at Baltimore's Shock Trauma Center.

From 2007-2008, Dr. Schachter participated in a prestigious Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Orthopedic Surgery fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he was awarded for outstanding clinical research. He served as part of the medical team caring for athletes of the New York Jets football team, the New York Islanders hockey team and both the Hunter College and Hofstra University athletic teams.

He has authored and co-authored many papers and research articles related to sports medicine and orthopedic trauma.

Dr. Shia is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Shia grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts and performed his undergraduate education at the University of Rochester. Following his undergraduate training he completed his medical school education at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He graduated with honors and received the Lawrence Linienfield award for excellence in physiology.

Dr. Shia performed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Washington University in Saint Louis. U.S.News and World Report ranked Washington University as the #2 Orthopaedic Residency Program in the country in 2015. While at Washington University, Dr. Shia was involved in the care of the professional sports teams including the St. Louis Rams NFL team and the St. Louis Blues NHL team. Dr. Shia has had the opportunity to present at various conferences and has published in several orthopedic surgery journals on different topics including shoulder arthroscopy, hip surgery, and shoulder replacements.

Following the completion of his chief residency year, Dr. Shia pursued further fellowship training in shoulder and elbow sports and reconstructive surgery at Washington University. This prestigious fellowship encompassed a diverse experience including both reconstruction and advanced arthroscopic/sports applications to the shoulder and elbow. Washington University is regarded as one of the leading programs in shoulder and elbow surgery and is one of the top three high volume centers in the country for shoulder and elbow replacements.

Dr. Jeeten Singha is a Board- Certified, Fellowship trained Foot and Ankle Surgeon at The Orthopaedic Group, division of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists. Dr. Singha specializes in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery, Complex Deformity Correction, Sports Injury, Arthroscopy and Fracture Care.

A Chicago native, Dr. Singha traveled the country as a nationally ranked junior tennis player growing up. He pursued his passion for tennis and attended undergraduate on a tennis scholarship where he was a 4x NCAA All-American. After this, Dr. Singha attended medical school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. He went on to complete his Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency at the world-renowned Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Singha completed his Fellowship in Advanced Reconstructive Foot and Ankle surgery at the prestigious Weil Foot, Ankle and Orthopedic Institute in Chicago. During his fellowship he had extensive training in forefoot and rearfoot/ankle reconstruction including: arthroscopic techniques, total ankle replacement, advanced biologics, limb salvage, ligament/tendon reconstruction, fracture correction, and trauma surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Singha acts as the attending surgeon for residents from the Yale University School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Spak is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He received his medical degree from Harvard University and completed his orthopaedic residency at the Harvard combined program. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship in South Lake Tahoe, CA. He has a special interest in reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, as well as fracture treatment. He serves as team physician for Sacred Heart University as well as several local high schools. He has extensive experience with joint preservation surgery of the knee and shoulder, including the latest minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Jeffrey Sumner, a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, received his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his medical school degree from Albany Medical College. He performed his orthopaedic training as a resident at the Albany Medical Center Hospital, which he completed in 1984.

Because of his continued interest in spinal deformities, Dr. Sumner furthered his studies with a fellowship at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas under the direction of the renowned Dr. Alexander Brodsky. Since completing this fellowship, his practice has been primarily directed to the treatment of adult spinal disorders, including degenerative as well as traumatic injuries.

Dr. Sumner has continued to expand his research in the treatment of skeletal trauma by independent study and is an active participant on the trauma panel at both the Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale-New Haven Hospital. Also, he has traveled extensively over the United States presenting seminars and conducting research regarding the spine, trauma, and general orthopaedics. Dr. Sumner is on staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital serving as the Community Assistant Chief of the Orthopedics and Rehabilitation department and a member of faculty of Yale Medical School and regular lecturer to Residents and Medical Students.

Dr. Sumner is a member of the North American Spine Society and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association through which he participates in the Resident Trauma Training Course. As a member of A-O North America, he participates as faculty in teaching seminars in Spine and Trauma instructing practicing surgeons, residents, and OR personnel.

Dr. Sumner is married and has three children and between April and November when not working, he can be found racing sailboats on Long Island Sound.

Dr. Tekmyster is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine with subspecialty training in advanced interventional spine care and regenerative medicine. He received his medical degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California and went on to complete an Internal Medicine Internship at Seton Hall University-School of Health and Medical Sciences, Newark, New Jersey. Thereafter, he completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Medical College and State University of New York. Dr. Tekmyster then went on to complete a fellowship at OSS Health/Sinai Hospital of Baltimore which provided in-depth training in sports medicine with a focus on advanced interventional spine care. He has extensively published and presented on both spine and sports medicine topics, including book chapters and at national conferences. His special interests include the care and prevention of athletic injuries, regenerative medicine and musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Tekmyster is currently serving on the Membership Committee of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Patient Safety Committee of the North American Spine Society. Dr. Tekmyster is currently serving as Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac University – The Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine and is an Assistant Team Physician for University of Bridgeport and Team Physician for Fairfield Warde High School. Recently he has been named as a team physician for the US Ski and Snowboard team.

Dr. Sanda Tomak is a board certified Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Foot and ankle reconstructive surgery. Dr. Tomak received a BS in Biology from Yale University. She graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Orthopaedic surgery at Yale -New-Haven-Hospital. Dr. Tomak completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Emory University. Dr. Tomak is a Clinical Instructor at Yale University Department of Orthopaedics.

Dr. Tedd L. Weisman is a physician-partner at Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists (COS). COS is one of the largest and most prestigious physician-run orthopaedic surgery groups in the Northeast. He is Chairman of the Milford Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (2005 to the present). He also served a successful two-year term as President of the Milford Hospital Medical Staff (2008-2010). He has been a Board Certified fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons since 1992. He had successfully completed his (10-year interval) American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) re-certification examinations (2003 and 2013). Dr. White is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Boston University, and Tufts University. Dr. White is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and he has special interest in arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine, total joint replacement, and endoscopic carpel tunnel surgery.

Dr. Wijesekera is an Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon who specializes in adult and pediatric spinal surgery, spinal deformity and spinal trauma.

He attended Boston University for his undergraduate studies. After graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from Boston University School of Medicine, he traveled to the University of Southern California - Los Angeles Medical Center where he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. At the University of Southern California - Los Angeles Medical Center he was awarded the Marshall Schiff Award and Herman Epstein Award. Dr. Wijesekera specialized in Spinal Surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center, where he completed fellowship training in all aspects of adult and pediatric spinal surgery.

Sherri O'Connor, PA-C, joined The Orthopaedic Group, in the Fall of 2012 and works with Dr.Wijesekera in his high volume spine practice treating cervical, and back patients of all ages.

Mark E. Wilchinsky M.D. is a native of Bridgeport, CT. He graduated from Fairfield University and Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, LA. He completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA where after completing his residency he was an assistant professor in Orthopaedics. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has been in practice in this area for many years and has been the team physician for many local high schools. He has special interests in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery.

Dr. James J. Yue was most recently co-chief of the orthopaedic spine surgery section at the Yale School of Medicine. He was also director of the ACGME Yale Spine Fellowship as well as the lead surgeon for motion sparing as well as endoscopic spine surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA where he received an A.B. degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in biology. He completed his medical school training at the Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, IL and orthopaedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland, in Cleveland, OH where he worked closely with Dr. Henry Bohlman. He completed two post residency fellowships, the first at the RA Cowley Shock Trauma Hospital in Baltimore, MD and the second at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, UK under the supervision of Mr. John K Webb and Mr. John O'Brien.

He has been the Principal Investigator/Co-Investigator on a number of FDA and non FDA clinical trials for disc replacement, motion-sparing, and endoscopic spine surgery clinical trials. He is the Chair of the Education Committee for the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery and IITTSS spine society. He is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery in the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

He has published and presented over 100 scientific articles and abstracts and 2 major spinal surgery textbooks. He is a journal reviewer for several international spine surgery journals.
